Gregory R. Gazzola

Gregory R. Gazzola is currently the Program Director for the Roland Hayes School of Music located at 55 Malcolm X Blvd., Roxbury, MA. Roland Hayes is part of the Boston public Schools and provides music education to the students of the John D. O’Bryant School and Madison Park Technical Vocational School. Prior to his current position at Roland Hayes, Mr. Gazzola was the interim Program Director for the Arts. In that capacity he was responsible for developing and administering professional development offerings for teachers as well as district wide festivals and exhibits.

Mr. Gazzola began his career in the BPS as a percussion teacher at the Roland Hayes School of Music and was later appointed director of that school. Mr. Gazzola is most notably recognized for the award winning Roland Hayes Percussion Ensemble that won numerous local, state, and international competitions. He came to the BPS from the Doctoral Studies Program at Boston University. Mr. Gazzola is part of the educational teams of Vic Firth Inc. and the Yamaha Corporation. Prior to his studies at Boston University, he was a percussionist with the Air Force Band of Liberty at Hanscom Air Force Base, in Bedford, MA.
