Pan Xpressions
WHO WE ARE Pan Xpressions was formed on March 30, 2008. The 9-member band is comprised of talented steel pan players and percussionists with a combined experience of over 25 years. The band made its debut performance at the Spring Concert of Steel Bands on May 4, 2008. Since then the band has performed at several events in and around Boston including a celebration of President Obama’s Inauguration. MISSION STATEMENT Pan Xpressions will promote Caribbean culture steel pan music through our commitment to musical and performance excellence with respect for self and others. MOTTO Committed to Excellence AIM Pan Xpressions’ aim is to promote steel pan music through sensational performances in Boston and the surrounding areas. The steel pan, which originated in Trinidad, was initially used to play mostly Caribbean music - calypso and soca. Our aim is to show the versatility of the pans by performing not only Caribbean music, but other types of music such as jazz, classical, and Latin to name a few. 36 Wilcock Street, Dorchester, MA 02124 |
